Jesse P. Smith
Long-time Norwalk/Wilton Resident
Jesse P. Smith, a long-time resident of Norwalk and Wilton , died peacefully on December 23, 2012 in Fearrington Village , North Carolina near Chapel Hill . Born on March 26, 1932 in Brooklyn , New York , he was the husband of fifty-three years of his beloved wife, Gail. A certified public accountant, he practiced for decades as a sole practitioner in Norwalk and North Carolina .
He was entirely devoted to his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Peter and his wife Stacey of St. Louis, Missouri and their children, Jeremy, Joseph and Sophia; his son Steven and his wife Beth of Redding, Connecticut and their son, Chad August; and his son Douglas and his wife Branton of Richmond, Virginia and their children, Joshua and Benjamin.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at two o'clock at the Independent Hebrew Society/Temple Shalom Cemetery located at 143 Richards Avenue . A reception will follow at the Norwalk Inn and Conference Center located at 99 East Avenue . In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be sent to Duke HomeCare & Hospice, Office of Development, 4321 Medical Park Drive, Suite 101, Durham, NC 27704 .
