The day has come,
The day I've dreaded.
Dad I wish I could be sitting with you,
But I can only sit here and think of you instead.
I think of all the memories we once shared,
I remember all the laughter
your love and your care,
when I needed someone you
were always there.
You're truly gone this I know,
I just want to tell you that I still love you so,
and I'll hold on to our memories, I'll never let go.
For you were my hero, you were my Dad,
you were the best dad a daughter could ever have.
Now I know you're up there watching over me
with your beautiful spirit soaring free.
