Jerry Katzmarek Obituary
Jerry Katzmarek, 84, of Fox Lake, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Monday, December 30, 2024.
Jerry was born August 7, 1940 in Illinois, the son of Albert and Josephine Stanowitz Katzmarek. He was a retired electrician for Local IBEW 134. Jerry met the love of his life, Carol Zmudzinski and they were married for 48 years. Jerry enjoyed traveling to Mexico, fishing in Minnesota, and spending time with his family. He loved his cars, and Gene & Jude's hot dogs.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol; children: Cindy (Joe) Schmalz, Susan (Emmett) Quinn, and Jerry V. Katzmarek (Vince Celio); grandchildren: Ryan (Elena) Schmalz, Matthew Schmalz (Missy De Marco), Olivia Woods (Nile Godfrey), Katie Quinn, Gavin Quinn, Benjamin Celio; and long time friend Joe Petrucci along with many other friends and family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister.
Per Jerry's wishes a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

My deepest condolences at the lost interior cats, Merrick, my uncle and my mother`s last living brother. Unfortunately the Kat Merrick name dies with him, but thank God I had a chance to spend time with him before he passed to remember how wonderful a man he was and how quirky he could be in fun.
