Eisenberg, Jerry L. beloved husband of the late Eleanor Ruth (nee Harrison), cherished son of the late Isadore and Fannie, loving father of Sheri Joann (Jim) Gellar, and David (Rebecca) Eisenberg, devoted grandfather of Yiftach (Fiancee Janice), Yochai (Amy), Yuval (Becky Barak) Eisenberg, Jonathan (Rin Rin Tu) Allison, and Lexi Gellar, adoring great-grandfather of Orli Eisenberg, fond brother of the late Joseph, Jack (the late Dorothy), James, Sidney (the late Bess), Ben (the late Helen) Eisenberg, Helen (the late Alfred) Sangerman, and Genevieve (the late Sol) Buchsbaum, dear and cherished friend of Marie Levine. Mr. Eisenberg and his wife, the late Mrs. Eleanor Eisenberg, were among the original 25 families who organized and founded the Northwest Suburban Synagogue of Morton Grove. Mr. Eisenberg was the past President of Congregation Ezras Israel (1989-1991 and 1994-1995), a long time member of the Jewish War Veterans, Post 800, co-founder of the Combined Veterans Association and past Illinois State Commander of the Jewish War Veterans (1955-1956). Mr. Eisenberg served proudly in the Navy during WWII. Service Wednesday, March 25, 2009, 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Westlawn Cemetery and Mausoleum, 7801 W. Montrose, Norridge. Interment to follow chapel service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Congregation Ezras Israel, 7001 N. California, Chicago, IL 60645, or to the Jewish War Veterans U.S.A., Post 800 c/o Mr. David Hynes, 7141 N. Kedzie, #1013, Chicago, IL 60645.
