Jeremy Mach Obituary

Think about you, Michael and I talk have talked about how much we miss you. Love you cuz.

As his student around 1980, I vehemently argued with Jeremy, until I finally learned something about writing. At the end he told me I could be an author if I really wanted it. What I wanted was to get paid well.

I did use what I'd learned from him many times. I wrote successful grant proposals and became a published author in peer-reviewed journals in health care. I even won a national award for a project with Veterans. However, I put off writing for myself until retirement. Now I have self-published two novels. I wish I could send them to him with a note reminding him of our time together and what I'd learned in his class.

Jerry was a special man, an inspirational teacher, and a good friend. He lived life with a great deal of zest and encouraged all of us to do likewise. He was generous with his time, wisdom, humor, and compassion to all of us at Morton College. Terri, Lissa, and Cassie, my love and prayers go out to you. Pat Witzke

Of the many people I've met, Jerry was a fully-alive,vibrant friend.He was compassionate and funny, as well as loved and appreciated by the thousands of students and acquaintances whose lives he touched! Jerry who loved life,loved it too briefly;Jerry who left life,left it too soon.

I will always remember putting together
hundreds of booklets for this writing
projects(Morton College) and his gratitude, much sympathy to his family.

His smile and his laugh. What a great memory. We have so many many memories from those years when our girls were swimming. What great times we had. He was a wonderful person and great to have as a friend. We will miss you!

My Cousin Jerry showed us all how to be more kind, understanding and compassionate. His love for his family was unconditional. When going through difficult times he always took time to encourage all of us and would always close by saying "it was good to hear your voice" when he spoke on the phone. He had a zest for life and was a true giver. My heart is broken of his sudden passing but know that life is a journey and he lived it to the fullest. We all can though rejoice that our brother Jerry will leave a legacy behind for his family and friends of love and sincerity that will last for eternity.

I honestly don't know where good people go when they leave us, but I do know what they leave behind...love, memories and people who, like me, wish they hadn't gone.

The McArdle family in Arizona is truly sorry for your loss.

Our cousin Jerry was a wonderful and kind man. He will be greatly missed. We send our deepest sympathy to the family.

I was trying to get to know him as a professor he was amazing he was the best English professor I could ask for and he made the class laugh I'll miss that.

Each time I go out my backdoor onto my octagon deck, which Jerry made during the summer of 1986, I will think of him. He was great at so many things, and did them all perfect. My prayers are with Terri and the family. F.Holbrook
