Jeremiah Ryan Obituary

Jerry was an excellent sailor and Naval Officer.A friend and colleague.

To Anne, Sheila, Bobby and the entire Ryan family - you have lost a great husband, father, brother and friend. My lasting impression of Jerry will be his managing of the Shannon Rovers and of course playing the big drum for the Rovers on all of their big gigs during the original Mayor Daley era. Jerry was a true Chicago original and a great Irish-American and he will be sorely missed. May God bless Jerry and the entire Ryan family.

Rovers, get ready for some marching like you haven't seen in years up there -Barb, Hudson, Suitcase,Boyle,Kerr,Red,Mal,Taylor,Barney,Mike... and the many others- X's and O's no problem and the thundering sound like you've never heard the pipes and drums..march on Jerry, and joy to you on the meeting of your parents and all the other loved ones who have gone before you...and Jerry, maybe you can recruit St. Patrick for the band! (he'll give you a run for drum major)

How very sorry we are that we found out too late to express our great sorrow on Jerry's passing. Jerry was a wonderful man who worked hard for other people. He'll be missed by many. We would like to extend our sincere condolences to all the members of his family. All of your are in our thoughts and prayers.

My sincerest sympathies to Jerry's family on the loss of a wonderful man. While I had not seen Jerry in a number of years, I remember him for the man he was - a loving husband, father and grandfather. A true friend who would do anything to aid a fallen friend or would forgive a friend any transgressions.

I am sure he is now at peace and watching over those he left behind.

Jerry & the entire Ryan family have been a great part of our Auer family for many years & we enjoyed the Shannon Rovers bagpipe band performances especially. I remember Jerry & the Shannon Rovers playing in the Mount Prospect July 4th parade in the 1960's & 1970's various times when he was band member & manager.
