I just saw this posting for Jean Budding. As a kid I grew up as next door neighbor to the Buddings at 9728 S Lawndale. She was always a very nice and gracious lady. I'm sure she is missed by her family. I grew up with Eddie her son. I remember Barb and Irene.

She was our school nurse for a number of years at Red Bird Mission School, and always such a blessing to be around. I really appreciate Linda for letting us know of her mother's passing. She was one of those people who just had a beautiful personality and a kind word for everyone.

We were blessed in Seward, Alaska to have Jean come on a mission to our local nursing home. She was such a blessing to our entire community in so many ways. What an honor to have shared her path!

Whenever I wasn't feeling well Mrs (nurse) Budding always had kind but real words that made you think about the day and how you really felt. Was it that you were sick or were you just kind of trying to get out of going to that next class!! She always was comforting and understanding to everyone who stopped by her office. She will be missed!!

In loving memory of our second "Mom" at Evergreen Park High School.
Mrs. Budding was always the kind professional at school who we liked to call
"Ma Budding". My condolences to your entire family, genetic and otherwise.
We were so lucky she was there to take care of us.

There are so many memories written in these pages, of Jean, a kind, gentle and caring person. She was my Aunt Jean (my mother's sister) and I always aimed to be like her. Even after retiring from school nursing, she went on to missionary work in Nigeria, Kentucky and finally Alaska. But even as old age was approaching, she continued to give of herself to the under privileged through her church and the soup kitchens. Truly, a remarkable person and I will miss her.

Mrs. Budding was my school nurse at EPCHS. She was a wonderful mentor and an inspiration. I was so lucky to be able to work in her office in my free period. I am also a nurse today, and I sometimes think about that time in high school that was so valuable to me. I enjoyed seeing her so much at our reunion a few years ago. Was so happy she could make it. Thoughts and prayers to Mrs. Budding's family and friends. She was a sweet lady and a caring nurse. (School nurses need to have a certain 'attitude' to deal with some students and she had it.) I've been a nurse for 37 years and I think knowing her helped make my decision to be one. She will be missed by many. Jody Heisler Class of 75

Mrs Budding was the kindest neighbor to our family for the past 30 years. We all have many treasured memories of her gentle and kind ways. She was always willing to lend her ear and share stories or just hang out in the yard or on the porch with any of us. She was a fixture in our childhood. A woman of faith, family, and service that we all loved and looked up to. She will be dearly missed but not forgotten by any of us. Sending prayers to her family as you mourn this tremendous loss. With Love, The Madden Family

Jean Budding was an excellent nurse and a good friend to students and staff. She had a welcoming smile and word for everyone and was always kind and helpful. As a counselor for many years at EPCHS, I saw her as a helper to students, staff, parents, and community members. In her later years she volunteered in Africa and also in Kentucky to help many people. I value my memories of her and of her family. She will be missed by so many. We both send sincere condolences to all Jean's family and friends. Sarah and William Strobel

If ever there was a Florence Nightingale, it was Mrs. Budding. How can I ever forget her kicking me out of her office after giving her my list of ailments and being chastised because I never would truly experience a menstrual cycle.
Or her pulling cinders out of my rump for hours one day after gym when Tom Dilley and I tangled up with underclassmen on a turn out on the track and hit the cinders hard.
The lines at her office after gym when floor hockey or dodge ball had been the game played made her earn her paycheck.
Regardless, Mrs. Budding was always upbeat, had time for one and all and made sure you were okay to leave her office. An angel with the angels now, let the games commence in heaven.
Thank you Mrs. Budding. And my condolences to your fine family.

Jean was a remarkable woman. As the beloved nurse at Evergreen Park High School, she was the confidant and and comforter for students and faculty alike. After retiring, she kept finding new ways to help others less fortunate. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a dear and devoted friend. God bless you always, Jean. I came to know Nurse Budding very quickly as a new teacher....when she would bring wheelchairs to pick up injured students, in Physical Education Class and listening
to a variety of ailments ( excuses) my students tried to use
in order to sit out of class or swimming.
And since those days, I was blessed to call her my friend.
