I am so very sad to hear of Jerry's passing. I had the priviledge of working for him breifly at Johnson Outdoors before he moved on to other business endeavors, but thought he was a man of high character. I will miss him. Sue Spencer

I was so sad to hear of Jerry’s passing. We spent 15 good years at Quaker. I always enjoyed Jerry’s wry sense of humor and good nature. When we were much younger & single, we had many great poker games over at his place at 1660 N LaSalle. I remember we demonstrated our maturity and good judgment by throwing egg rolls off his balcony to see how big of a splash they would make from 30 stories up! Another time we arrived a few days early before a Quaker management conference at Saw Grass. After a few days of golfing, we pulled up to the meeting late with several senior managers standing around curiously watching us. Jerry opened the door of our rental car and empty libation containers rolled out in front of everyone answering some questions but raising others! We knew how to advance our careers! Luckily Pat came into Jerry’s life and settled him down (sort of). I’ll never forget their wedding reception watching Jerry showing off his newly acquired ballroom dancing skills as Pat and Jerry twirled about the dance floor. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
