I remember visiting w/Jan for the first time in the pool. I am known as the swimmer who swims for hours at a time and Jan joined me in my lane one morning to get in her laps as well. We had the most interesting discussion and I couldn't believe we hadn't met before that time. From that day forward, we talked about Village issues, current events, anything and everything happening in our lives . . . She crossed all social lines and was able to engage anyone in conversation. She was also an extremely vital energy - so young in spirit and heart. When I brought my 91 year old mother to the pool during our annual pot-luck, Jan spent quite a bit of time getting to know her which I really appreciated. I just can't imagine the pool w/o Jan and I hope it will be open this year to honor her legacy. I will miss Jan so much and am extremely sad I won't be seeing her lovely (and loving) face again -

Janis was a beautiful person to everyone who had the privilege to get to know her. She was warm, giving and generous. I grew up with Janis's sister, Susan and brother Rick and have such fond memories of the tremendous love that filled their home. I had the good fortune of getting to know Janis even better over the last several years through our mutual participation in a virtual book club. Janis always tapped the Park Forest library for her reads and often took notes and researched aspects of the books we read, adding informative insights to our discussions. Her beautiful spirit and love of life will be missed by all who knew her.

I would like to thank Jan, and her family for caring about the PFAC, in her lifetime, and beyond.
She loved the pool, and it/we loved her back! It is truly a gem in The Village of Park Forest, as was she!
Jan was an inspiration, and she will be missed!
Condolences to her family, and many friends.

We are sad and sorry to lose such a Park Forest treasure. What a beautiful, kind, wonderful human being.
We lived on the corner of Winona before moving to our home on Westwood Drive. We used to see her everywhere. Swimming, biking, walking , always exercising when she wasn't working.
My kids uses to call Jan the swimming, walking, biking lady, before we officially met her.
I hope that we can come together and reopen the Aqua Center.
Jan worked so hard to keep everyone happy. Jan listened to all.
We will miss her so much.
Jan leaves a mark on all she met. A lovely, positive feeling.

There probably were very few days when I went to the aqua center that I didn´t have conversation with Jan. She really loved talking about her family. She loved to celebrate the end of the aqua center season with a food fest because we became another family that she cherished. May her family and friends enjoy many good memories to help ease the loss of this wonderful woman.

To Jan´s Family..You meant the world to her and brought her so much happiness. She in turn spread happiness to her many friends with her caring and interest and inclusion of others, always encouraging, looking at the positive. I was her pool friend plus a fellow dental hygienist and we enjoyed good times at the pool, our luncheons, walks at the preserve. I and so many, will sorely miss Jan. She was very loved.
My prayers for your comfort in the Lord, knowing that she is perfectly whole and full of joy.
Love, Jane
