Janet Homer passed away peacefully on March 26th at age 78 at home in Elwood Park, IL. She was born in 1943 in Chicago, IL to Emily and Hugh Best. Her brother Bill lives in Jackson, WY and she was preceded in death by her sister Marcia. Janet met her husband, Mike Homer, in 1961, and they married in 1963. She graduated from Trinity High School in 1961 and attended Clarke College and floral design school. She was a creative florist and co-owned the Flower Basket until 2005. Before her long illness, she liked to read, decorate , play tennis and was active at St. Vincent Ferrer parish. Janet is survived by her husband, Mike, her brother, Bill, her four children, Laura (Jim), Lisa (James), Jeanne (Randy) and Michael (Carrie) and seven grandchildren, Aly, Ryan, Kellan, Kaycie, Keira, Kenna and Kyla. Special thanks to Janet's wonderful caregivers, Peachie, Vanessa, Camille and the late Hazel. Also thanks to her hospice nurses Marina, Kelly and Gabby. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1530 Jackson Ave., River Forest. Interment private.
