JANET GILDEA-STRUNK Obituary

Janet Gildea-Strunk, 78, of Burnt Hills, passed away after a brief illness December 5, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital. Janet was an accomplished seamstress, spent endless hours providing service to her community, attending to the elderly, providing friendship and comfort to those in need. Janet treasured her family above all else. Janet was born on March 21, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Leo and Anna Mae Picotte. She was predeceased by her first husband, John J. Gildea Sr. Janet is survived by her loving husband, Carleton Strunk; her four sons, Michael (Mary) Gildea of Burnt Hills, Martin (Diane) Gildea of Waterbury, VT, John (Elizabeth) Gildea of Burnt Hills, Thomas (Tana) Gildea of Marietta, GA; stepsons, Steven (Cathy) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Michael of Katy, TX. Janet also leaves a beloved brother, Richard (Irene) Picotte of New Hampshire; and twin sister, Jane (Ernest) Ruff of East Greenbush. Janet leaves behind nine grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Thursday at the Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Rd. ( Rt 146A), Ballston Lake, on December 8th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held Friday at Our Lady of Grace Church, 73 Midline Rd., Ballston Lake on December 9th, at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Janet's name can be made either to The City Mission of Schenectady, Ballston Lake Emergency Squad or Our Lady of Grace Church. Arrangements are by Townley & Wheeler
