Jane Weinstein Obituary

Weinstein, Jane Ruth Goldwach of Skokie, IL, April 8, 2004, of complications from cancer. She was married to Philip Joseph Weinstein, also of Skokie, from 1941 until his death in 1996. Previously, they resided and raised their family in the West Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago. She is missed by her loving family. She was the daughter of Harry and Estelle Benzion Goldwach, of Chicago, born July 19, 1918, one of four children. She is survived by her sisters, Florence Kopel of CA and Eileen Greene of Texas; her brother, Jerome Goldwach of Chicago, predeceased her. Jane Weinstein worked many years with her husband in his professional photography business, Lawrence Phillip Studios, Chicago. During the 1950's, she also acted in leadership positions together with her husband, of Boy Scout Troop 805, of Temple Menorah in West Rogers Park. She was active in other business positions and community affairs throughout her life. Above all, she was a devoted Mother to Barbara Jean Weinstein Wener of Arlington Heights, IL, and Stephen Jay Weinstein of New York City, mother-in-law to James B. Wener of Arlington Heights and Ann Warlick Weinstein of New York City and loving Grandmother to Lisa Wener Whitaker and her husband, Rob Whitaker of Cocoa Beach, FL, Scott Wener of Chicago and Leila Elizabeth Weinstein of New York. She was also joyous Great-Grandmother ("Gigi") to Robby and Cade Whitaker of Cocoa Beach. Services Sunday, 11 a.m., at The Piser Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd., (at Church St.), Skokie. Interment Shalom in Arlington Heights, IL. The Family requests that any remembrances be made to the American Cancer Society in the name of Jane Weinstein. Information: 847-679-4740
