Jim - I miss you everyday :)

Jim, I can not believe you have been gone a year. We miss you every day, work is just not the same. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories. Thoughts of you only make me smile.

Mrs. Troka and family,
I was stunned and saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I'm very sorry for your pain. I met Jim when we worked on the same block for a number of years. He always wore that big smile that infected everyone. Truly one of the funniest persons I've ever known. I'm glad to have called him "friend".

Dear Troka Family,
My deepest sympathy at the passing of Jim. I had dinner with my Mom yesterday and she mentioned his passing and I was shocked. I was on vacation for 2 weeks during that time, otherwise, had I known would have expressed this in person. Wow, growing up and attending Sauganash School and Queens are my fondest memories of Jim. He was my buddy growing up. He was a good guy and will be missed. My love to you and your family.

Judith, Jordan and family,
We were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of your loss. We always thought of Jim as such a good guy...kind, thoughtful, and fun. Jordan, I know you have beautiful memories of your dad, especially from your wedding where we saw him last. I am sure you will always cherish those memories. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of working with Jim years ago. He always had a smile in his voice and on his face. Troka Family: I was devestated to hear about Jim's sudden death, and feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to laugh and spend time with him at Karen's Birthday Party. Up till then, Diane told me how much fun they all had planning their reunion and what a wonderful friend Jim had become again. He had a way about him that made you smile when you saw his glowing face. That had not changed from when we were younger. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I learned today about Jim and am very sad and sorry for your loss. In the old neighborhood on Kilpatrick, Jim was a special childhood friend. He was always sharing and introducing me to new things like a big brother would. Very sorry.

As you may recall, my stories of your brother and I working together, back in the day, at Peterson's Drug Store were quite hilarious. I didn't know him that well up to that point, but he had an incredibly warm, fun, out-going personality. He made the time we worked together...enjoyable! Amazingly, I drove past the drug store Saturday afternoon and recalled some of those moments.

My sister and I ran into Jim over the last year or two around our neighborhood of Edgebrook/Sauganash. We had not seen him in many years but he was was as nice as he was years ago! Jim was in my sister's class at Queen of All Saints and was a student of my mother's at Queens. He will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry for all of you at this sad time. I knew Jim from high school days through Mary Jevitt. We had lost contact until recently and had been emailing each other. He told me he still had a caster I had given him back in the day cuz it matched his brown car. My dad made casters and he was fascinated by it. I loved his smile and his laughter! I hope you all know what a shining star he was in all our lives and will be missed. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I couldn't have asked for a more welcoming, wonderful, hilarious father-in-law. I'll always lament the fact that we didn't have the opportunity to do the many things we'd planned, but I will cherish the times we had to spend together more than I can express. (-From the Bellagio marathon to the Battle of Stalingrad.) He could brighten my wife's darkest day with a simple phone call, and his influence shines through her every day in her witty, wry, zany sense of humor and her desire to help others. I too am shocked and heartbroken over this loss. Jim and I met in high school and were friends ever since. I know of no one who didn't think he was the greatest guy - everybody wanted to be around him. Even though I now live in FL, we still had visits, calls and instant message conversations over the last couple of years. He always was and will be in my heart as one of the all time favorite people I've ever known.

My thoughts are with you all at this very sad time. I will miss him terribly, as will the rest of my family who knew and loved him as well.

I am so fortunate to have had the world's best dad for 24 years of my life. I am so proud of him. He treated everyone with kindness and always brought a smile to our faces. He has and will always be my hero and I love him more than words can express.

Thank you, Daddio, for all that you did and all that you will continue to do for me. I am the woman I am today because of you and it makes me so proud and overwhelms my heart with love.

I am so saddened and alarmed at our loss. Growing up with Jimmy, one could not be luckier in having him for a couusin. How I looked up to him and hence enjoyed speaking with him (and seeing him) during phone calls and the few visits back to Chicago to see my family. Jimmy is with Uncle Jim (his Dad) and Grandma and Grandpa now. How lucky can a guy be? The flip side is that we will miss him and all that he offered to all.
