I had the extreme good fortune of being a student of Dr.Thale at Loyola in the early 1950's.He was an outstanding teacher who could blend clarity and rigor in his lectures.I regret that I did not have the opportunity to work with him in later years. My prayers will be for his family for I know that he does not need them.

Jim and I shared an office and worked very closely together for a number of years at Cook Research Laboratories. He ws a wonderful person, co-worker, and friend. I vividly remember my sadness when he told me he was changing employers. I offer my sympathy to Fran and the boys.

Mr. Thale was one of the sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, working with, and calling a friend. His subtle sense of humor, class, and gentle demeanor will surely be missed and fondly remembered.
