Mr.Smuda became a part of my life when I was dating his son Jeff back in 1974. I found him to be a very strong and hard working family man.
I was luckily able to see Mr/Mrs. Smuda in 2005 when they came to Chicago for Christmas. How great!
Having been able to see him and how happy and relaxed and smiling from ear to ear, leaves me with a very good feeling in my heart. I thank god for the reunion.
When someone you love becomes a memory,

I will treasure all my memories that I have.
My deepest sympathy.
I wish I could of been there for you.

Have thought of Jim recently, worked together for a number of years on the old Beat #101 in the first district. First class act, loved his coffee on midnight shift, a true gentleman. Conversations included talk of Weber and Gordon Tech, I was in first graduating class of Gordon and Weber was our rival. This event really comes as both a shock and sad time for me. Jim and his family will be in my nightly prayers, wish I could be there with you....Larry Bunge
