Rosenbloom, James L. "Jim"

James L. "Jim" Rosenbloom, age 80, of Chicago, President and Co-Owner of Rose Records, a family-owned record business that was a Chicago institution for over 60 years. Jim attended Francis W. Parker School and University of Michigan, transferring after 2 years to the University of Chicago where he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. He also attended University of California Berkeley for a PhD degree in British History, but prior to completion he returned to his family business. Jim had a love for history, fine arts, and was an avid golfer. He was a long-time member of Bryn Mawr Country Club, where he began as a caddy during his teens. His biggest passion was his family, especially being a father and grandfather. Those who knew Jim best, will remember him for his sense of humor, intellect, and gentle nature. He is the loving father of Sarah (Nathan) Taylor; adored Papa of Harrison and Eleanor Taylor; devoted son of the late Aaron and the late Hilda "Hilly" Rosenbloom; cherished brother of Nancy (Richard J.) Davis; dear uncle of An "Annie" (Matthew) Laundon-Dean and special great uncle of Sarah Laundon-Dean. Graveside Service Tuesday, 12 Noon at Westlawn Cemetery, Section D, 7801 W.
