Jim was one of my dad's old friends and I got to know him when I got to go hunting with my dad up north over many hunting seasons. He was just a great guy who made you laugh and I will cherish my early memories of hunting with my dad and his fun friends especially Jim. We'll be thinking of you this hunting season as I walk past your old spot. Deepest sympathies for your loss.

I knew Jim as a classmate in high school. My fondest memory of him was his beaming smile and great sense of humor. My deepest condolences to Jim's wife and family in this time of great loss. Jessica (Diane Kirk) Lee

I recently reconnected to Jim on Facebook through his son Jimmy and had a great conversation with him shortly after his dad, John, died earlier this year. My heart goes out to all of you with the loss of Jim. I lost a dear friend in him as well. Back in the 60's, when we both attended Eberhart Elementary School in the same grade, Jim and I played together, rode bikes together, were in Scouts together (his dad was one of the Scoutmasters), attended parties at each of our homes, had sleepovers (our homes were just a block apart), and attended Catechism and St. Nick's church together. His mom and dad were just fun to be around and I saw the son whom they loved so dearly being mentored into the man he became. My life in Chicago as a child and teenager before my family moved to Texas was certainly blessed by the Pacewic family and having Jim as my friend was special. C.S. Lewis, a famous Christian author who wrote many books including the Chronicles or Narnia, wrote the following in one of his books that definitely applies to Jim: "All their life in this world and all their adventures ... had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before." May you all feel God's comforting presence in this time of earthly loss of Jim, and we are all looking forward to seeing him again in Heaven for those who believe in Christ, along with the rest of our loved ones who have gone on before us. Thank you, Jesus, for lending Jim to us to bless us and make us all better people as a result of him. May Jim's family and especially his wife of 32 years, Maggie, especially feel the presence of the Lord during this difficult time.

I knew Jim for a long time and was made the better for it. Although in life people seem to drift apart I always kept my good memories of him. We went to the same Grammar and High School,Jim you will be missed
