Is the the James Karm I knew as a student at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts? If so I am heart broken to hear of his passing . I had thought that he moved to California and did not know that he still resided in Chicago . We were for a time very close friends and I admired his talents as an artist . We all called him Karm and he opened my eyes to many things regarding art, clocks , antiques and music , particularly opera. I have wondered about him throughout the years. I remembered his stories about growing up on the Nortwest side and attending Lane Tech . My children also attended Lane and his stories of Lane were always with me as I walked down the halls of Lane . I am so sad to hear of his passing and deepest sympathy to his brother and family. To the Karm family,
I'd like to extend my condolences with regards to Jim's death.
Jim and I worked along side for the years he was at WGN.
I enjoyed his wit, intelligence and insight about the topics we discussed during breaks between show.
At the end of our lives where the most important things matter, I am happy for him that he found God.

Rest in peace, Jim.

Sincerely-

Dan Bennett
