James Taliaferro Hadley

James Hadley Obituary

Hadley, James Taliaferro Chicago Banker, Community Leader, 79 years old, died February 19, 2010. Though his mind remained intact, his body continued a 15 month decline following a hemorrhagic stroke in 2008. He is survived by his wife Gloria, sister Freda Miller, children Kieth and Hilary, grandchildren Gabrielle Hadley and Nicholas Webb Hadley. Viewing Thursday, 2 to 6 p.m. at Cage Memorial Chapel, 7651 S. Jeffrey Avenue. 773-721-8900. Contributions can be made to the University of Chicago, Department of Neurology. Visitation Friday, 9:30 a.m. Funeral 11 a.m. at Carter Temple CME Church, 7841 S. Wabash Ave. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery, 11500 Fairfield.

Our memories of James are pleasant. He was a thoughtful and committed person.We will miss his smile and warmth. James loved his family and friends. We are grateful he was a part of our life. Our prayers and thoughts will be with you always Gloria and family.

Mr. Hadley made Providence St. Mel School a better place. His leadership on our Board of Trustees set the foundation for an effective learning community. His loyalty and vision helped to secure wonderful opportuniites for our students. We will miss him.
