To the family of Jim Finn,

So many at O'Hare Airport were deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Jim. Perhaps it will help you to know how much he was respected and appreciated by those of us in the airport community who worked with him every day and admired his calm, steady way of handling every issue. He was well liked by all, and will be greatly missed. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

To the Finn Family, I wanted to share some more memorable thoughts I have had with Jim, he was a camera buff as I am, he shared with me his experience's and joys that he had with his digital camera, he loved the camera and it's features, and spent many a momemts telling me about his camera. Jim was so full of life, he reminded me of a bright star. He hired me back in 2000, to work at the airport, we have been friends ever since, again I will miss Jim very much, I am very sorry for your loss, I will remember Jim and your family in my daily prayers. God Bless.

Dear Linda,

What can one say in this time of grief and sorrow? How does one say thank you for the good times and the laughter? His time among us has proven to be too brief but will never be forgotten. He was a husband, father and friend whose sharing and most importantly his caring have meant so much to so many. He shared many of the wonderful moments in our lives and permitted us to share in so many of yours.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you as well as the certain knowledge that he will find the peace he so richly deserves. He has gone ahead to make ready the way for the rest of us. I am sure that some day we will take up where we’ve left off.

The Irish never say “goodbye” to those they care for, but rather “till we meet again” in the belief that they will continue to seek out each other’s company. So our faith and our ancestry tell us this is just “till we meet again”.

With our love and affection,

Bonnie & Bob Shanahan
