I didn't meet John until 413 Monroe St., the weekend of the awesome fire. I remember the the impatience of Fish for him to arrive. He was funny and kind as described.
I was very excited to meet him a 2nd time. The same John Costello I had met a lifetime before. He still gives me a smile.

Gail - to you and your family.....today, my brother Michael brought memories of Jim back into mind.
I remember SO many great times with him, and was blessed to consider him a great friend of mine. Ill never forget our days together at Northern Trust, being included for Hawk game festivities, and listening to jazz at his lakefront apartment on summer afternoons. These things, and more, richened my life. His spirit is living in us.
I hope you are doing well these days.
Best wishes,
Sean

Dear Costello Family,
I first met Jim in Carbondale at 413 W Monroe. He had come down to visit Fish for a weekend. I think we had a bit of a campfire that weekend which included the carport (more wood).
We met again through Christy Webber at or around her baby shower during a Blackhawks game and rekindled our friendship. Such a great man. In love with his family and friends. Happy with his life, carried his burden with grace.Dave and I are so very sorry for your loss. We will miss him.

Hey Coz,
I was wrong. Halzer told me your dogs' name
was "Skip". Yeah He was right! I found a
picture of you, Fish and Bruce down in the
Howard Johnson's parking lot in Fort L. I
think it was 1973? Fish drove the green
'66 Catalina down. You had your arms up in
the air and you said " Wow, do you believe we're in Florida?" Man did we laugh. You're
the best Coz! Thanks again buddy! Mulls

Hey Coz!
You turned me on to my first paper route. Your German Shephard "Knight". The blue flower van. The Chicago concert in '72. The
great laughs. Iggy. Yeah to the lads of CK,
you were truly a great "Dude"! I kept missing
you at wakes and reunions. Haven't seen you
since college. But that's ok you never left
my thoughts and never will. See ya Coz

Things that come to mind when I think of Jim -
his sense of humor when he called the office
and
that voice – it just automatically put
a smile on your face.
I finally had the opportunity to meet
the man behind the great voice a few years
ago – it was my honor to meet such a truly
nice person. My boss has been very
fortunate to have such a good friend in
Jim all these years.
Jim you will be missed.
Gail, Katy & Kevin -please accept my condolences.

So sorry for your loss. Jim was a grammar/high school friend that was a great guy. Never a bad word to say about anyone.

Dear Gail and all,
We were deeply saddened when we learned of Jim's death. The last time we were with him was when we were at a party for Ali and Michael at the Arts Club in Chicago. We were seated with him at dinner and enjoyed a great conversation with him. He spoke of his great love for the West, Arizona, and his appreciation of the desert and it's history.
He so loved his wife Gail and was so proud of his children Katie and Kevin. He was filled with joy and will be missed by all who knew him. We shall remember him always as the loving caring man that he was.
Much love, Margie and Ken Gaile

Very sorry to hear this. Some of my favorite grammar and high school memories included Jim - we laughed until we cried on many many occasions, he was definitely my partner in crime at CK and the best prom date ever at McAuley. What a great guy! My deepest condolences to the family.
