Zidek, Jack R. 84 years young. Devoted husband of twenty-two wonderful years to Rose (nee James), cherished father of Suzanne (Bernard) McDonald, Noel (Thomas) Cusack and the late William J., loving step-father of Jacqueline (Eamon) McMahon and the late Jill Brace. He is survived by four cherished grandsons, BJ (Melinda) McDonald, Marcus (Dr. Patti) McDonald, Michael Pickering and Jack McMahon. He also leaves behind three beautiful granddaughters, Megan McDonald (Gordon) Paulson, Jordan Pickering and Rosie McMahon. Jack is survived by three special great-grandchildren, Jack Kaeding McDonald, Conor William and Natalie Rose McDonald and two sisters-in-law, Bernice Leary and Karen Whitney; nieces, nephews, cousins and loyal friends survived Jack as well. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Genevieve M. (nee McGuire) Zidek and his sister, Jane E. McInerney. Jack was the CEO of Midland Metal Products, a company he ran from the age of 32 following the death of his father. Jack was a loving and generous man. His examples of anticipating needs of others and anonymously aiding so many will be one of his many legacies. Visitation was held at Kenny Brothers Funeral Home, 3600 W. 95th St., Evergreen Park on Friday, January 25th. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, at 10 a.m., at St. Barnabas Church, 101st & Longwood Drive, Chicago, IL. Burial was held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. I am very sorry (selfishly) that Jack has left us. Each of the few times we would actually meet over the past 30 + years was good. I learned a lot from his sincerety and directness. A good man indeed, one I will always remember.

My mother Dorothy worked at Midland Metal for 35 yrs. Mr. Zidek and Jane as I remember were always wonderful. As a young kid I use to call Mr Zidek, Arnold Palmer, he always remind me of him. On behalf of my mother Dorothy (passed), our sympathy goes out to the family.
