Helfand, Irving "Kep" 93, beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Weiss), devoted father of Steven (Patti) Helfand, Dale (Butch) Matten and David Helfand, loving grandfather of Amy Helfand (Mike Miller), Hedy Helfand (Patrick Kelly), Dr. Eric (Lori) Matten, Kevin and Todd Matten, great-grandfather of Lucas, True, Everett, Sean, Gabrielle, Rowan, Daniel and Jacob, dear brother of Frances (Arnold) Bernstein and Betty (Seymour) Shein and the late Herman Helfand, Leonard and Irving Karm, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral services, Friday, 1:30 pm at THE PISER CHAPEL, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd. (at Church St) Skokie. Interment Westlawn Cemetery, Norridge, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to LUNGevity Foundation, 435 N. LaSalle St, Suite 310, Chicago, IL 60654, (www.LUNGevity.org) would be appreciated.
