Irene Laconia Obituary

Laconia, Irene Eugenia Bluras 77, of White Oaks Road, died Thursday evening, November 3, 2005, at Lakes Region General Hospital after a brief illness. Irene was the daughter of the late Michael S. and Angela (Witkowski) Drop. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 25, 1928 where she was raised and schooled. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the former Globe Department Store in Gilford as the Office Manager, and Front Supervisor. She was also employed at the Chicago Sun-Times and Tallman Federal Savings and Loan, both in Chicago, IL. Irene enjoyed the outdoors, and flowers, especially finding joy while gardening. Irene is survived by one son, J. Michael Brent of Laconia, one daughter, Janice M. Brock and her husband James of Gainesville, VA, one grandson Andrew L. Brock and his wife Shannon of Bristow, VA, one granddaughter, Laurie B. Swiggett and her husband David of Romeoville, IL, and one great granddaughter Julia Irene Swiggett also of Romeoville, IL. Irene was also the sister of Joseph Drop, Wanda Kukis, and Alfreada Drop all of Illinois. Services are private and will be held at a later date. For those who wish, it is suggested that expressions of sympathy in Irene's name may be made to Community Affairs, LRG Healthcare, Oncology Department, 80 Highland Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
