Inez Young Obituary

Young, Inez Maxine April 21, 1919 - April 25, 2007 was born in Franklin, Nebraska, the daughter of Marcus Dreu Young and Cressie Aiken Young. She graduated from Cozad Nebraska High School and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln and The Barnes School of Business in Denver. She worked in Denver and Washington D.C., before realizing her lifelong dream when she moved to Chicago in 1947. Maxine retired after more than 30 years as Executive Assistant to the Director of the Internal Revenue Service in Chicago. She was a longtime member and active supporter of the Moody Church. Maxine is survived by one sister, Madge Young Calliham of Ottawa, Kansas; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Harding Young of Cozad; five nieces and one nephew; Carol (Phil) Schutte of Tucson, AZ, Cris (Mark) Soth of Fairfield, IA, Janie (Tom) Brooksher of Littleton, CO, Sheila (Robert) Hardt of St. Louis, MO, Claudia (John) Neary of Spencer, IA, Marcus (Mindy) Young of Cozad, seven great-nephews and six great-nieces; one great-great-niece and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Neil N. Young. A Memorial celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 18, 2007, at 11 a.m., at The Moody Church, 1625 N.
