Maxine was a dear friend of my Mom, Deloras Becker of Dubuque IA. They lived together in Chicago in the 1940s. My Mom has been in a nursing home for a few years. We use to phone Maxine on our cell phone and let the two visit...they so enjoyed each other. My Mom would be on cloud nine for days, after talking to Maxine. We have been unable to reach Maxine for some time, we thought we might check the Tribune obits, since my Mom says they were both the same age. I use to phone Maxine when I would come to Chicago to run the marathon. She was always such a positive, uplifting, professional lady. A class act. Our sympathy goes out to her family. We will miss her...
