Ina Marie Dyer

Ina Marie Dyer, 87, of Syria, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at Autumn Care of Madison.

She was born on June 11, 1924, in Madison County, the daughter of the late Kenneth Nicholson and Jessie Bates Nicholson and wife of the late William Washington Dyer. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Grant and Cletus Nicholson; and three sisters, Alice Curtis, Florine Berry and Merdell Griffith. She was a member of Mount Olivet Methodist Church in Syria and was a employee in the school cafeteria in Madison and was a machine operator at Blue Bell.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Smith Knighting and husband, Jeff, of Haywood; one son, Larry Dyer and wife, Lisa, of Syria; one brother, Lee Nicholson of Madison; two grandchildren, Jennifer Dean of Syria and Kathy Smith of Leon; and one great-grandchild, Billy Dean Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison conducted by the Reverend Bryan Copeland Buckels. The interment will be at Criglersville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the funeral home.
