Howard Munyon Obituary

Munyon, Howard

Howard Morgan Munyon, 94, of Elmwood Park, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Howard was born on July 19, 1930, in Victory Wisconsin to Howard and Rose Munyon nee Cooper. Howard is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Diane Munyon nee Sittnick. Devoted father of Jeff, Sandi and Mark (Jean) Munyon. Adoring grandfather of Michael and Paige Munyon. After joining the service at 17 years old, serving in the Korean War, Howard came back a decorated Army Sargeant, met his bride and in 1956 started a thriving auto repair business in Oak Park. He would then selflessly and with great pride, provide service to thousands of customers. Along with his extraordinary patience and generous spirit he will always be remembered as a hardworking, self-made man, with an unbelievably strong work ethic. Along with loving "the station", Howard enjoyed bowling, playing golf and throwing dice. You could always count on meeting him for dinner with family and friends. He will be missed and loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Howard was gentle and caring and supremely patient and knowledgeable with his many devoted clients, including our family. He gave those same traits to Jeff and Mark. A neighborhood icon, you needed a trusted opinion "just ask Howard." Rest in peace, Howard.
