Howard crossed my mind this morning...all those wonderful evening at the Marigold in the 90s, raising thousands of dollars for the actor's charity Season Of Concern. We shared many laughs and tears. What a good man he was.

I came across a picture of Howard that was taken when I worked at Weiss Memorial Hospital. I hope his passing was swift. His goal in life was to make people smile. What a guy!

Howard will be missed. He was the mayor of Park Place. Everybody knew Howard. He was special.

Howard was an Institution at Park Place Tower. He would routinely welcome all the mothers and fathers with their children in tow at the front desk when they returned home after a weary day. The kids loved him. I recall many kids nearly running into the glass door separating him and them, as they came to great him. He was a die hard Cub fan about which we had several discussions. He will be sorely missed and I am sorry that we didn't know in time to participate in his final journey. Howard will be remembered a good long while here at PPT, that's certain.

From my mom Irene and dad Bob Zuponeck and myself Karen Zuponeck Bremer we wish to express our deepest condolences. Howard was a true friend to my parents. He stopped by when my mom was in the hospital. He was quick witted and funny and we all will miss him terribly especially my parents! Rest in piece Howard.

From the entire family of Randy ("Mauler")Martz ex-Cubie (Randy, wife Paula, and sons Nolan, Nathan and Nelson and Carla Shifflett (twin sister to Paula) and David Shifflett (AKA "Treework")brother-in-law to Randy.....we wish to express our deepest sympathy to the Fagenholtz family. It was truly a blessing to know Howard.

Howard met Randy (and Bill) ex-cubies in Chicago as they all rented from the same complex. He became best friends to them and their families as time marched on.

Howard was ecstatic when his Cubs won the World Series. The many phone calls over the years between Howard & Randy discussing their dear Cubs will be missed as will all the many jokes he told. He dubbed Paula & Carla as Doll #1 & Doll #2 as well as "Fudge Pot" for Nathan as he always wanted to get candy in Chicago).

"Uncle Howie" was truly a good friend and we enjoyed our times visiting him at the Marigold, going to the Wheel-A-Round, Fudge Pot store, Fireside restaurant and Wrigley Field. (He wasn't much for getting out but he did attended Randy & Paula's wedding and a Gateway Grizzlies game in south Chigago!)

Uncle Howie may you rest in peace and thanks for the memories we all shared with you. We will dearly miss you for now! As Jack Buck said "So long for just a while"......
