Hortencia Flores Obituary

Flores, Hortencia (nee Rodriguez) Age 99. Loving daughter of Monserrate Rodriguez and Providencia Claudio. Born December 1, 1917 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. Born to a family of 23 siblings, she is survived by 2 sisters, Hipolita Rodriguez and Carmen Rodriguez. She is the loving mother of 3 children, Maria (Richard) De Francisco, Hector (Toni) Flores and Judith (Agustin) Rios; 4 caring grandchildren, Rene (Yvette) Mitchell, Melissa (Ron) Hurley, Hector Flores, Jr. and Jose (Heather) Flores; fond great-grandmother of 12. Hortencia is fondly remembered by 100s of nieces, nephews and cousins. She spent her earlier years supporting her family and her late husband, Julio Flores' many business endeavors, by working in a candy factory. Hortencia and Julio celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1990. She was a dedicated woman of God, serving her family and friends whenever they were in need. Her love and constant attention will be surely missed by many. We are at peace knowing she is at rest in Our Lord Jesus' loving arms. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Casey Laskowski and Sons Funeral Home, 4540-50 W.
