I am so glad to have known Horst and Jean at the Calumet Yacht Club. What wonderful people, always smiling. Horst always had a story, my favorite is the time he brought people down to show them the club & to go for a boat ride and have a cocktail. When they arrived, the bar was closed, so they went for the boat ride first. Upon returning the bar was still closed! He was a little upset, so he checked the bar schedule, and found out HE was suppose to have been the bartender that day!
My condolences to Jean and her family.

Our condolences to Jean and her family at the passing of Horst. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during these most difficult moments.

We have been very fortunate to have had the friendship and opportunity to spend time with Horst and share so many stories and yuks. Hosrt was so passionate abount so many things his family, his freinds, boating, history, and travel. He was so full of life with a terrific sense of humor.

We will not forget that wonderful week end in Door County this past fall and listening to his unending historical facts, it was as if he had actually lived those moments in time when he told his stories.

Every time we travel to down town Chicago we will have visions of Horst sitting on his boat while enjoying good times with family and freinds. And yes Dennis and Joe will be there solving world problems or giving each other grief as was so typical.

Thanks for all the memories Horst.

A smile comes to our faces every time we think of all the good times we were able to share with Jean & Horst. We were especially honored that they were able to make it to our wedding this past November in Key West. As boat neighbors we always enjoyed Horst coming over to dance to our "house" music! He was such a good friend and will forever be missed. Our deepest sympathy to Jean and their family.

I really enjoyed Horst's friendship especially as it related to boating. Our trip bringing the 50' Yacht back from Detriot to Chicago was an experience we'll never forget.
