Markowitz, Hodele (nee Wolfe), beloved wife of Lester, loving mother of Laurie Weinstein (Ruth Goran) and James Weinstein, dear step-mother of Paula (David) Levin and Mardy (John) Kozloski, cherished grandmother of Zachary Weinstein, Rachel Kozloski and Eric Levin, adored cousin and friend of many. Service Tuesday, 3 p.m., at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 or Am Yisrael, 4 Happ Road, Northfield, IL 60093. For info: (847) 255-3520.

Our family mourns the loss of a kind and loving woman. She was always gracious and smiling. Alan and I will remember her love for family.

Del Weinstein Markowitz was a huge part of my amazing childhood in Chicago. She would spend the time to teach me the basic things in life, cooking, cleaning and wonderful talks, which I have since used and passed on to others. I will always love her and cherish our time together.
