Worked with Hirsh at Shearson, back in the 60s. A great guy. Outgoing and very positive. I remember him all these years later as friend. God bless his memory.

Dear Susan, Michele, and Steve,
Words are totally inadequate at a time like this, but do know that I think of you often. Hirsch was a great guy who always made me laugh when I spoke to him. He was so kind to Meagan, and I know that she cherishes the memories of times with your family.
Love, Kathe

Susan,
On behalf of everyone at Bank One in Evanston I want to express our deepest sympathies to you and your family for your loss. Hirsh was such a wonderful man. His love for his family and faith were always on display. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I personally will miss his always encouraging words, the sometimes corny jokes, the talks we had about sports (Hockey, of course) and his help with crossword puzzle. I will always remember Hirsh.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Susan, Steven, Michele, Jill & Linda:
I was so very saddened to learn of Hirsh's passing. I understanding the feelings of loss that your children must feel, as I felt those same feelings when my father passed very quickly after learning of a life threatening illness. I miss him telling me "something for my own good" which he was famous for doing and which I did not like at the time. Now I miss his wisdom and his hugs. May your children hold him tight in their heart.
Susan, I believe Linda will be a great comfort to you as you have been to her. Together, and with your faith and support, you will get through this, always remembering the love and joy he brought to your life. Without the love you shared together, there would not be such wonderful children to carry on for both of you.
May God comfort your entire family now and later on when you feel you need it most.
Fondly, Susan Kirk-Velez

Susan and family,
My heart is very heavy with the knowledge of Hirsch's death. I know you and your family are experiencing the worst type of loss possible. My thoughts have been with you and will continue to be. I hope I can always be there for you as part of your support system. Your friend, Judy Arkin

My prayers are with the family and especially Susan during this time of loss. Although I did not have a chance to meet Hirsh through the stories of laughter and compassion and love for his family and others I have had the chance to know him.
