Hermann Hoffmeister Obituary

Hermann Guenter Hoffmeister, a resident of Dothan since 1993, died Monday, May 8, 2006, at Flowers Hospital. He was 74.

Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Byrd Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Laurie Williams officiating. The family will receive friends following services Thursday.

Mr. Hoffmeister was born May 24, 1931, in Halle, Germany, and lived the early years of his life there. In 1957, he moved to the United States. He resided in California until 1993 when he came to Dothan. He owned and operated H-U Precision Machining for over 20 years prior to his retirement to Dothan in 1993. Mr. Hoffmeister was a member of the Masonic Order (Lodge Number 127) and was of the Lutheran faith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Ursula Hoffmeister, Dothan; two daughters, Ellen Elvira Gonzales and her husband, Eugene, Spring, Texas, and Deborah Hoffmeister, Gardner, Mass.; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Heidi Fisher and Bill Fisher, and Tilli Lucht and Walter Lucht; a nephew, Harold Lucht; two grandsons, Stephan Guenter Parnow, Willows, Calif., and Michael Stuart Parnow, Yuba City, Calif.; three great-grandchildren, Kiley Rose Parnow, Hunter Jackson Parnow, and Brooklyn Rose Parnow; two brothers, Wolfgang Hoffmeister, and Dieter Hoffmeister, both of Halle; a sister, Eva Schotte, Halle.
