Herbert Whitley Obituary
Portsmouth - Herbert Wilson Whitley, 94, of the 2300 block of Leckie St. passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013. A native of Portsmouth, he was born on July 25, 1919 to the late Elisha and Chloe Whitley; and retired as a lineman from Dominion VA Power after 37 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Bessie G. Whitley; and 11 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by three sons, Herbert, Harold and Michael Whitley; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel is handling these arrangements.
