Henry Walsh, retired CPD, age 72 of Chicago, passed away September 25, 2023. Beloved husband of Ellen (nee Hickey) for 43 years. Loving father of Maureen (Michael) O'Brien, Brian (Nanette) Walsh, Kevin (Geraldine, CPD) Walsh, Patrick Walsh (Carlos Trejo), and Brendan Walsh (fiancée Dicy Mulchrone); Proud grandpa of Abigail, Teagan, Emmett, Annamarie, and Kevin Walsh; Dear brother of the late Terrence Walsh, Michael Walsh, Gregory (Tina) Walsh, Kevin (Nancy) Walsh, Shirlee (Mike) Mohiuddin, and Sean (Kellie) Walsh; Cherished son of the late Henry and Shirlee (nee Haran) Walsh; Fond uncle and friend to many. I’ve never parted company with Hank without a smile or a hearty laugh between the two of us.
That was Hank’s legacy as I will always remember him. He was quite proud of his Irish heritage as evidenced by his early involvement in the Emerald Society.
May the road rise up to meet you and the wind always at your back, until we meet again.

My deepest condolences to the Walsh family. Hank was a wonderful guy who truly loved his family. He had a great impish Irish smile, that could make you smile and also think he was up to something. I loved being in the Emerald Society bagpipe band with him, he was always fun to be around and will be missed by all who knew him. May God Bless Hank and hold him in the palm of His hand. Rest in Peace Hank my brother in Blue and Green.

A great police partner for over 20 years. We enjoyed many of the same things, good food, The Cubs, and many mutual friends. I know he will be missed, but when you look into the sky tonight, you'll notice it's a little brighter, as a new star has been added to the heavens above.
