Dear Robertz family:
Simone and I send our heartfelt thoughts to you all. Hank was friend, colleague and partner. His calm honest attention to everything; in his work, his relegion, his family and his friends was and is worth emulating.
My favorite memory was a fishing trip, with his son Scott and my son Paul to the lakes of Canada. His sturdy fortitude and spirit remains with us all.
Love, Simone and Hayward

Henry was my grandmother's cousin (Evelyn Crawford). I had the opportunity to get to know Henry a little better when he was finishing the tribute he and his brother Bill did to the memory of their parents who came to the U.S. from Sweden. They included many photographs of the entire family (including my great-grandfather Helmer Johnson, Henry's uncle) and wonderful stories and information. I spoke with Henry on the phone a couple times to help fill in the geneology charts for my generation.
I told Henry how much his book meant to me - having grown up hearing stories about my relatives, I now feel like I know these wonderful people in a whole new way. The dedication, extensive research, and hard work that went into the making of their book is amazing.
Henry's memory and life will live on - and for me he will always be very special because of the gift he gave me through his book.
My sincere condolences go out to his family. He will be greatly missed.

My grandfather was a wonderful man who through his actions taught me about hard work, kindness toward others, and enjoying whatever life has to offer. Even as I miss him, I celebrate all that he meant to me and all that he gave to me, and feel lucky to have had him in my life.

I offer my heartfelt thanks for the life of Henry Robertz who was a beloved friend, mentor and fellow designer. My thoughts and prayers go to Zelna and the Robertz family as they bid farewell to husband, father, brother, grandfather and most recently, great grandfather.

Henry was my Mother's cousin. She was Evelyn Johnson Crawford. Only in recent years did I get to know Henry and Zelna as they visited Duluth each year. I admired his courage; also Zelna's. He will be missed. What a comfort to know he is with our Lord.

There is a new star in the heavens, a man whose light blazed
with goodness, with humor, and intelligence. He was a Christian
and an artist. A man who lived and loved one woman with all his
heart. He touched the lives of all who knew him. This man, known
as Henry John Robertz, Uncle Hank to me, even though he was not
my uncle, has left this life, and gone home to be with his Savior. He was
my dad's cousin. He will be sorely missed.
Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4
May God's angels surround the family with His Love. We are with you in spirit.
Love,
Dave and Julie Losey

Very special remembrances to you all. Hank offered me my first job with Henry Robertz Design just out of college and it was my measure for all subsequent positions. He touched my life and I am grateful for the teacher and the professional he was. I send my deepest sympathy.
