Henry Hervey Obituary

Hervey Jr., Henry P. loving father to Dianne Marie Hervey (Boston, Mass.), brother to Ramon Hervey (California), many other relatives and a host of loving and loyal friends. Mr. Hervey was a Tuskegee Airman who served as a pilot in WWII and the Korean War. Returning to the United States, Mr. Hervey worked as managing officer for the new Service Federal Savings and Loan Association and went from cashier to president at the Independence Bank of Chicago. After four years as consultant to the National Bankers Association, he joined Chicago Metropolitan Assurance Company, retiring in 1996. He was active in many social and civic organizations including: Chicago DODO Club, South End Jaycees, Dearborn Real Estate Board, Chicago Urban League, Metropolitan Planning & Housing Council, Chicago NAACP, Joint Negro Appeal, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., Frogs Club and the National African American Military Museum. Services will be held at A.A. Rayner & Sons Funeral Home, 318 East 71st Street on Saturday, April 12, 2003, Wake at 4:00 p.m. Tribute service at 5:00 p.m. Burial will be later at the Arlington Cemetery in Virginia. 773-846-6133 Visit Guest Book at www.suntimes.com
