Helen Szmagalski Obituary

Szmagalski, Helen J. of Lemont, formerly of Glenwood, IL, passed away at home on June 20. She was born in Chicago and is the last survivor of seven siblings. She was married to Chester J. Szmagalski in 1942. She is survived by her daughter, Maryellen Long. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, husband and daughter Elaine (Robert) Jedelsky. She has many nieces and nephews. She was a great-aunt to Nicholas, Shana, Jacob Sigmund and Madonna and Karl AusderAu, and others. She was employed by Jays Potato Chip Co. and S. Chicago Hospital and Glenwood Nursing Home in dietary. She will be greatly missed and will be remembered at Mass in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 210 E. Logan St., Lemont, on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 12 Noon. Visitation Wednesday morning, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C., 108 Illinois St. Lemont. Interment Private.
