Helen Crane Obituary

Crane, Helen (nee Schroeder), 102, of natural causes. A resident of Chicago, she wrote the lyrics to "Betty Dear, I Love You" (1918), the music by George Graff, Jr., who also wrote "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling". Later she owned a kennel including the offspring of Rin Tin Tin, the dog who starred in 26 films for Warner Brothers Pictures. She is survived by a daughter (Rose Marie) who for 12 years was the round-the-clock caregiver, two sons Raymond and Edward, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be at Marik Funeral Home of Berwyn, 6507 W. Cermak Rd., Berwyn 708-484-6310, Wake today Friday, Oct. 10th, 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral tomorrow Saturday Oct. 11th, 10 a.m.
