Harry Price Obituary

Dr Harry Price was an amazing man, as a patient I never felt I was just a 15 min appointment I felt like my time was spent catching up with a friend... he listened and always cared to go extra miles and beyond. I believe I was one of his last patience he saw before selling the practice when he told me he had cancer I thought how unfair cause he saved me from cancer... I cried so much that day and even as a write this I'm engulfed in emotions. Jason Price your dad was amazing and to the entire Price family sorry for the late post but he is in my heart forever.. blessings.

I just watched a dvd we had made of old video from my child's birth in 1996 of which Dr Price was my Obygyn. I googled his name and learned of his passing. I want to say to his family what a empathetic, smart and caring doctor he was. I remember seeing Dr Price in 1998 when I was pregnant again but upset that my dad was just diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Dr Price listened calmly and told me it was the circle of life. The way he listened and his wise words were very comforting at the time. He has wonderful and the world lost someone special. God bless you all.

He was my wife's doctor along with my daughter's doctor. I considered him a friend. Bless you Harry.

Was thinking of my two children growing up ever so fast . . . one going on 21 and the other going on 18 and Dr. Harry C. Price came to my mind. I remember with my first child, my wife and I were eating at a local Pizza place with my wife having a few weeks left before delivering and I was suggesting her not too eat so much pizza due to later leg swelling. Dr. Price was sitting in the back and enjoying his meal with his family and got up and came over. Being a new dad to be, I smiled and mentioned about how I didn't think it was okay for her too be consuming so much pizza and the salt intake. Dr. Price, as always, with a big grin on his face, put his arms around her and told her that she deserved it and that I would be there later to elevate her legs later on from the swelling and take care of her. Just one of the many moments I think of from this wonderful individual. We will always remember this kind, loving and dedicated doctor. God Bless Dr. Harry C. Price.

Dr. Price was far and away the best doctor I've ever had. He treated me like I was his very own mother. I moved to Las Vegas in 2000, But I made sure to commute for my annual visits. I am so sorry for your loss and the loss of such a great man.

everyone that has posted something on this guest book, thank you it means the world to me, as Harrys youngest child i feel that it hit me very hard, i really didn't know what was happening but i do know by reading all of these that he treated his patents with love and care. i look through these post to remind me of this and it is the best way to ease my emotions about him. as my best friend said "his spirit walks with me everyday". all i have to say is thank you for all the kind things you have to say

I'm sorry this is so late. In Oct 2005 I had a post delivery check up with Dr. Price. He had delivered my son and 3rd child in August. He was thin now and did not even wear his lab coat. Later, the nurses told me he was sick and was selling the practice. I was saddened to hear this yet so happy that he cared enough to come in for my last appt. He was a wonderful, calm and sincere person. I'll never forget when I was in labor with my first at 10pm on the phone. He asked, "are you uncomfortable?" yes, I replied. He said he'd call the hospital and meet me there. I think of him often and thank him for giving the confidence that I could have children at my age. He will be truly missed.

There will never be another doctor in my life like Dr. Harry Price. He was my doctor for over 15 years and has operated on me. He was a man that made you feel as if your well being was a priority. He showed me nothing but concern and passion. I still miss him today. He cannot be replaced in my heart or professionally.

I use to tell my friends I had my own Dr. Marcus Welby. I am a better person for knowing Dr. Price.

I received your thank you note the other day and thought to myself how cool that she would answer all that wrote to Dr.Price and then thought how sad that she had to do that and that this incredible man is no longer here. I think of him often and ran across a letter I wrote to him in response to the one saying he was retiring and was ill.I never sent it because I did not know where to send it to. I loved him Paula as obviously did countless others. He touched lives in ways many can only dream of touching. Know always that he enhanced the lives of so many.

Dr. Price was a caring and loving doctor. As his patient for 13 years, he made he fell well cared for and he build up my courage and faith in God during my toughest times. It is rare in life to meet a doctor like Dr. Price. I am so glad to have had him delivery my two boys. My condolences to his family. May you rest in peace Dr. Price.

I cannot express to you my heartfelt sorrow, when I first learned of Dr. Price’s retirement, and then illness, then loss of such a great man. As with so many other people, I feel he was a truly unique doctor. Ever person is different, and some how Dr. Price took the time to find out who you were, and treated each patient different. I know this because my sister, sister-in-law, and cousin and I all went to Dr. Price. I was so amazed that each of us loved this man for so many different reasons. One because he gave her so much sympathy, one because she just didn’t get it, and he’d help her understand, and me, was because he knew I didn’t want sympathy, but more honesty and information. He treated us each different, and exactly how we needed to be treated. After many years and 8 doctors who told me I probably couldn’t have children, I met Dr. Price. He smiled and said, “Forget all that, you’ll be pregnant by Christmas”, and I was. But I will never forget his thoughtfulness when he included my husband in all the delivery “stuff”, and when my daughter was born Dr. Price looked at her and said “well, since you were born on my birthday, well have to name you Harriet”. Please know that this man took care of so many patients and so many children, and now he’s looking down on us all, and still taking care of us.

I was so shocked to hear when Dr. Price took a leave from his practice let alone to hear of his passing. I am so deeply sorry and saddened for your loss. Dr. Price was a wonderful doctor with a great bedside manner. He had been our family doctor for over 20 years, since the retirement of Dr. Numerowski. When we found out I had an ovarian cyst, he performed emergency surgery on me and assured me everything would be okay and it was thank God! There should be more doctors like him. Dr. Price will never be forgotten.

I would like to humbly offer my deepest sympathy to Dr. Price's family and my belated tribute of gratitude to this wonderful and caring man. I am now 36 weeks pregnant with my third child and am grieving Dr. Price's untimely passing, along with my husband and my two girls, both of whom delivered by Dr. Price in 2000 and 2003.
As every woman close to her due date, I often have dreams that have to do with upcoming delivery, and it is always Dr. Price, not my current doctor, who delivers this third baby. Our whole family will keep him in our hearts for many years.

I am very saddened to hear of the world's loss of Dr. Harry Price. I was one of his patient's from the Skokie office. When I moved to the Chicago suburbs I asked a gentleman that I worked with that was married with children for information on physician's his family used. He gladly gave me Dr. Price's name, said his wife really loved him and he was sure I would too. And I did.

My wife and I first met Doctor Price the week that we were married. He was the first, and only OBGYN that my wife would visit for the 22 years prior to him having to step aside from his practice. His demeanor and personality were always reassuring. He always treated us the way we wanted to be treated, not like some others who talk down to you. He explained things on a level that you could understand. Doctor Price was someone that we could enthusiastically refer friends to. When we finally decided to have children, he was there for both of us. When our first child was born, it was by emergency C Section to save the lives of both my wife and my daughter. I am eternally grateful. He was calm, yet frenetic. I never doubted that things would work out, even as my daughter's heart rate was dropping in her mother's womb. Born nearly four weeks early, she's a healthy seven-year-old today. When my ten pound son was born, I got to see Dr. Price calm and actually joking. When we first heard of his illness, we hoped that just maybe that this man who brought life to so many would be able to beat his illness. We were very sorry to learn that he had lost the fight.
Paula, you and your family have been in our prayers since we first found out that Harry was ill. You will continue to be in our hearts and minds. We hope that Harry's memory and all he has done for humanity will bring you peace and comfort.

I can't tell you how saddened I am on the passing of Dr Price. I was lucky enough to have him as my ob/gyn for 10 - 15 years, even going to him after moving over an hour away. I miss him as my doctor. He was caring, compassionate, & all around wonderful.
I also want to express my deepest sympathy & condolances to Dr Price's family & friends. My prayers are with you.

My eldest son and the love of his life are expecting a baby and I was asked to provide a name of an OBGYN as they just recently moved to the area, of course my mind went to Dr. Price-he was so kind and gentle figure my last pregnancy. His kindness left such an impression on me that I did not think of anyone else but him to recommend. In fact the other day I was going thru my daughters "hope chest" to come across a bib with a duck and embroidering on it that had the saying delivered by Dr. Price, He told me that his with had embroidered the bib. It was such a thoughtful gesture. I have kept and treasured that bib all these years and will continue to do so from now one. Again, my deepest sympathy to all, especially Mrs. Price. My deepest condolences go out to your entire family. When I received Dr. Price's letter back in January of 06, I cried while reading it. My husband had asked why I was crying and I tried to explain to him how I felt about the wonderful man who brought our two children into this world. We had actually considered having another child about 6 months ago, but I could not imagine going through that wonderful experience without Dr. Price. I'd like to share two memories with you. Dr. Price asked me to write a birthing plan and i did. After he read my two page step by step plan -he smiled, folded it up & put in his pocket, and said sounds like you have things covered.
Everytime I came in for an office visit, he would open my chart and all the pictures of my children would fall out. He probably received hundreds of pictures but I always thought it was so sweet that he kept them.
I hope you can find comfort in knowing how many lifes your husband/father touched. He was loved by his community. His memory will always remain with my family.

I'll never forget the first time I met Harry Price. It was to confirm my 1st pregnancy. When he gave me the news, I broke down in tears. He said to me, it is good news, isn't it? I responded that it was indeed good news, but that the one person who I wanted to tell most was my mother, and she wasn't with me any more. I cried harder, and while most men would have run for the hills at this point, Dr. Price held me until my tears had passed. I fell in love with him at this first meeting, and I never stopped appreciating what a kind and gentle soul he was. I was so saddened when last year I had to find a new doctor to see. Dr. Price delivered both of my daughters, and I will forever keep his memory in my heart. Thank you for sharing this wonderful man with me for over 17 years. My deepest condolences to all of you. I have know Dr. Harry Price for around 17 years and take pride in the fact that he deleiver all 8 of my healty beautiful children. When I first recieved he letter he sent to all of his patients in January 2006 I was deeply upset, how could someone so wonderful who had brought so many new life into this world be sick. He brought so much joy to every one he touched. After reading his guest book I look threw for children baby stuff, and ran across the bibs he gave them with the little duck and the saying" Dr. Price delivered me". I was deeply saddened. I will cherish them always. He was such a kind and gentle man., and when there were problems during the pregancy, I believed him when he would reassure me that everything would be ok, and it was. For months I wonder how he was doing and not knowing how to find out. I am very blessed to have had Dr. Price in my life and to share in the most beautiful times in my life the birth of my 8 children. Dr. Harry Price was my hero. I met him in a desperate time of need and he was the most kind and generous man I know. He went on to deliver all 5 of my beautiful daughters. He was more than a doctor to me and my family. He was a good friend. I was his patient for more than 25 years.I put my life in his hands 2 times with high risk pregnancies and I never had to worry because he was right there with me to let me know that everything would be just fine. I feel lost without him, but I know that he is in a place that I can only dream of right now. He was my guardian angel and he will always have a special place in my heart. I was playing with my children at Fink Park on Friday and saw the filled parking lot at Solel. How saddened I was to hear it was Harry's passing!
It's so clear from reading these entries, and from knowing you all, how important his family was to Harry. I look fondly back on my time as the kids' teacher and tutor, and how kind you all were to me as we pursued building our own family.

I am not sure if you remember me because I worked for Dr. Price for a short time in 1993, as his nurse in the Skokie office, but I have continued to keep in contact with Susan, and she sent me the info on Dr. Price. It was a shock to see that he is gone, and even though I was there for a short time I saw the love, patience, and understanding he gave to all of his pts. I was grateful for the opportunity that he gave me and honored to work for him. I am sure that he will be missed by many. I am so sorry for your loss, and I hope that you and the girls are okay.

I had tears in my eyes after reading all these wonderful responses in regards to Dr.Price. He was a great Doctor. I was so upset when I received his letter that he was leaving his practice and we all had to find another doctor. Reading all of these, I think we can all agree, there is no other doctor. He was it! I had to write again if only to reconfirm all that I have read. How astounding that every one of us thought we were the most special patient. How did he do that for each and every one of us? He spent almost two days at the hospital with me when I had Drake. His mentor was the doctor that delivered me, Alan Green. If not for Alan I wouldn't have met Dr. Price. I wouldn't have had the honor and privledge to know and love someone as special as he was... as he is. He worshipped his family. How lucky for all of us that we knew and loved him. To Dr. Price's Family,
My deepest sympathy to you on your loss of a great man. He not only delivered both of my children (now 16 and 20), but he also referred me to all my other doctors and really did an excellent job of it. Dr. Price also had a sly sense of humor. I gained NINE pounds in ONE week during my 2nd pregnancy. I swore to him that it was the baby and not what I was stuffing in my face. He responded, "Well, I always wanted to be in the National Enquirer and this 20 pound baby ought to do it. I'll even do the delivery for free if I get in." To this day, it makes me laugh (of course the baby only weighed 8lbs).

To the Price Family,
How sad. He was truly a wonderful, compassionate man and is missed already. He delivered my youngest son; it was obvious that it was joyful for him to bring life into this world. I will never forget him.

We were so sorry to hear of your loss. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help at this time. Dr. Price was always there for me and my family. He delivered both of my children. He was always so caring. He helped us get through the hard times. I will never forget what special care he gave me after my son was born, I don't know how I would of been able to cope at that time without his concern and understanding. Our thoughts are with you.

My sister and I were having lunch in the foodcourt. Dr. Price and his wife were also eating there. He said Hi! and I was suprised. I told him I didn't think he would recognize us. He laughed and said that he did look at our faces too. Along with his compassion and caring, we found that he had a great sense of humor. He will be missed.

Dear Paula and family, my heart is so sad for you on your loss...all of the joy he brought to others, myself included, by delivering our babies and caring for us. Harry was an all around genuine guy and I am forever honored to have known him. May you all find some peace and comfort in knowing what he meant to so many people.

I am deeply sadden by the loss of Dr. Price. I was a patient of his for over 20 years and how ironic that he died the same day, 4 years to the day, after he delivered my 2nd son Jack. He was passionate, understanding and an amazing doctor and he had that same passion when he talked about his family.
