Harry L. Cruikshank, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Des Plaines, IL. Harry was born on July 27, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Donald and Clara (Roeske) Cruikshank. Harry married the love of his life, Kathryn Mueller, on January 10, 1959 and were blessed to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary.

Harry is survived by his wife Kathryn; children Kathleen (Jon) Hogaboom, Kenneth (Judy) Cruikshank, Alicia Franklin (deceased), and Carolynn (Robert) Baumhart; grandchildren Jennifer, Ryan (Lauren), Michael, Ashley (Michael), Jason (Amber), Patrick, Kelsey, Robert, Eric (Stephanie), Thomas, Dakotah, and Daniel; great-grandchildren Avery, Savannah, Paige, Evelyn, Teddy, Lincoln, and Payton. His sisters-& brothers-in-law & many niece's & nephew were part of the dearly loved family circle he created. He was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Alicia, parents Donald and Clara; mother-in-law Alice Mueller and 5 siblings.

Harry loved his family dearly; he was their hero and fierce protector. He enjoyed searching for rare car parts, rebuilding classic cars, fixing anything, traveling, gardening, was an avid reader and more than anything, spending time with his family and friends.

Memorial visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016. Funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Oehler Funeral Home. Interment will be private at All Saints Cemetery and Mausoleum in Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Harry's name to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org or the American Heart Association at heart.org.
