Harold Kyler Obituary

Harold always had me help him when he wanted to add his condolences to this same guest book and now it's my turn to add mine for him. He was part of the infamous three that were Alpha Beta Press. When I first met him he teased that he didn't allow women in the darkroom but yet he taught me what he knew about making PMTs, negs, etc. He refueled my passion for photography while sharing with me many of the photos he took over the years, including some fantastic Colonel self-portraits. Then came the age of the digital press world! He never came in the building after his retirement without stopping by my office to say "digital schmigidal." At employee picnic one year, Emily, then about 5 years old, decided to squirt Harold with the big super soaker water gun! Anytime after that day, even when Emily was older and working at ABP, he reminded her of that incident with a little gleam in his eye...yes, his bark was worse than his bite...he was a teddy bear inside.

My condolences go out to Rosemary, John, Marion and your extended family. Harold Kyler left us good memories! You are in my thoughts and in my prayers.
