I know I am late to comment but I just found out through an internet search in trying to reconnect with people from my past. I am so sorry to hear this news. How did this happen to someone so young? West was a coworker for a few months. He always had a smile for me when I needed it most. My condolences. Thanks for everything you did for me West!

Dear Jason, Blue and Ed,
I have just heard of your terrible loss and would like to extend my deepest sympathies. I remember all of you and West with such fond memories. West was always so happy, helpful and funny. You are such a lovely family - and am so sorry for West's passing.
I was with you during the time of your father's West's passing so many years ago. Both were much too young.

My favorite memory of West was when he came into the boardroom with an enormous diamond ring and an even larger smile.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

It is through death we realize how precious life truly is. We remember and cling to our memories the stories of those lost to us. We hold onto them, treasure them for they are what we have left, at least on earth, of someone dear that has left us. Our family is grateful to have known, loved and shared many good times with Westy . He always had a way of making you feel good with that incredible smile, sometimes devilish, but always genuine. We are honored and blessed to have had such a wonderful person in our lives and treasure the memories he left us.

March 13, 2009

Jason and Blew,

My heart is heavy with the sad news of Westfield's passing.

I heard the sad news as I was arriving to the Tampa St. Pete airport having just returned from a business trip to Houston TX. A friend had called to share the sad news. To be honest, my first instinct was scream at the top of my lungs "I HATE GOD!!" but managed to stifle myself as I was still in line at the baggage carousel awaiting my luggage.

Anyway, late that night before turning in, I spoke with God (as I always do at bedtime) and asked him WHY?, WHY Westfield?? and here is what He told me: He said "Mark, please do not hate me for what I have done". And then He proceeded to tell me WHY He chose to take Westfield in the prime of his life.

You see, the way his Holiness explained it to me, He has a grand and master plan for Westy. His Holiness shared with me His dismay over the recent economic downturn and His desire to diversify and bolster his portfolio by venturing into the manufacturing and distribution of electrically related conduits and components, and, well, you've probably already guessed it: He desired the most qualified "Earthly" person he could find to run His new venture.

So why did He choose West? Easy. He chose West for his ability to foresee coming trends in electrical distribution, his savvy business skills, his love of life and his ability to work well with and motivate people. Of course, being a great lover of the game of golf and a "scratch" golfer Himself, his Holiness also has plans to include West in His sunday afternoon 4-some ;^)

So, there you have it. West was simply called home to better things, and to serve a higher being. Feel comfort knowing that even though he's left us here on earth, West has gone to a place to serve for and under the greatest "CEO" the world has ever or will ever know.

You know, when God signed off with me last night he sounded particularly upbeat and positive - it was almost as if he knew something we don't yet know.

Before drifting off I wondered aloud: Could it be that if this electrical distribution gig takes off, He and West might, just might, be able to pull us out of this economic downturn??

If so, we will all have West (and God) to thank for that!

Earth is only one facet of life. Westy has not gone away~ his journey has just begun. He is resting now from the sorrows and tears in a place of warmth and comfort. He is living in the hearts of those he touched for nothing loved is ever lost. Westy you were loved so much! I will miss you!! Jamie

Westy will always be in my heart. He was great to be with and play with. He shared many morning breakfasts in the tool room at the Electri-Flex plant with us. He actually liked my wife's cooking which was the only thing that I ever found wrong with him but aside from that he was and will always be a great friend and person. We are missing him dearly and will always remember him and he will always be alive in our hearts and memories. God Bless You West and Ill see you when I get there!

March 11, 2009

West, you were a lot of things to a lot of people. The thing I will always remember you best for is the father you were to Griffin, and Gabrielle. We will remember all our happy times together. There will never be a day that I will go out in the yard, and not think about you out there, and loving it Gabrielle, and I are going to plant a garden in your memory...I am happy we had the time together that we had, I know it was short. I already miss your voice, your laugh. I am sure you are having a Martini with your Dad. I so miss you, and you will be with me the rest of my lifetime. Love, Shari.

I herd of Westy passing today and I'm sadden by the news. Let's say Westy had a GREAT life however and his body needed a rest. So, I'm forever thankful for the time he sponsored my 3some for golf at my bachlore party ( he could have shown up) but that was him always doing way to much at once. Life has a way of cathcing up ya know? Anyways I still see that smile and will never forget growing up down the street. from him, later Westy and my best wishes to all of those who new him well.

Kinander family,I was so sorry to hear of your horrible loss.Westy will always be a part of a lot of wonderful memories. He will be missed.

March 10, 2009

From the time I started at Electri-flex, Westy lit up the room!....whether he was playing pranks on you---and there were many---or just sitting across from me working, his smile could make a rainy day turn to sunshine. I will miss him.
He had a zest for life and I am grateful he added some to mine!
I found a picture of a fire rainbow that appeared in the sky shortly after his passing....it was probably him causing it...it is a rare quirk of nature and he probably was saying "I'm here up above and enjoying the ride"!
Please accept my coldolences on your loss.

To Lyn, Ed, Blue and Jason:

My deepest condolences to all of you for your loss. I looked up to Westy when I was fortunate enough to work for all of you. He was kind, light hearted and didn't have a mean bone in his body (at least that I never saw). He made me laugh, made me smile and always made me feel like I was part of the Electri-Flex family. One thing can be said, he was unique!!

God bless all of you in these saddened times!
