Paula, Harry and I were fraternity brothers at De Paul. We shared many a
beer and loads of laughs together. We spent many an evening at my house listening to jazz and discussing the world. He had a great sense of humor
and a quick wit. Pete McShea (Alpha Chi)

My condolences to Harry's family. I can only imagine your loss. I was a student of his at NEIU. His impact on my life was great and far reaching. He made me believe in teaching and in turn believed in my teaching when he hired me to teach at Northeastern. I am now completing my PhD, partially because of his influence.
The world is simply not the same without Harry in it.

My condolences to Mr. Hild's family. I call him mister as that is what we called him at Quigley in the mid-60's. Tough but fair is how I remember him; he made English class with his insights and discussions. Though I had him but for two years, his impact on me spans decades. God love you, Mr. Hild; rest in peace; and thanks

Dear Paula and Family,
Please know that we are with you and extend our deepest sympathy. Thank goodness you have each other to lean on at this difficult time. You are a great family. We think you know we love you all very much and how much Harry meant to us. He was a remarkable teacher and an amazing friend.
The following we wrote for Harry:
For thirty-seven years we rode the waves of up and down
mixing camping with politics
serious fun with serious moments.
Teaching each other and learning from each other
yet never sensing the passage of time.
You left us too soon but remain
an integral part of our very being.
Take our love with you while
your love stays with us always.
We'll miss you so and will never forget you, Dear Friend.

I'm devastated. Professor Hild was my guide through Lit and Writing 101.
Last time i saw him, he was playing basketball with Fred MacDonald.
You made short fiction, fun. What a Great Teacher.
My best,

Dear Paula and family:
My deepest sympathies on the loss of such a wonderful husband, father and teacher. Even though Harry was not a Coatian like Paula, all the Croations readily adopted him as one because of his friendly demeanor and having the good sense to choose a lovely person like Paula for a wife. So, on behalf of the Croations who may not know of Harry's passing, it was good to have known you, Harry.
