Gotling, Hans 77, of Chicago, died peacefully, December 4, 2006. He was born December 29, 1928, in Sodertajle, Sweden. He came to Chicago in 1946. He was a Korean War U.S. Army Veteran and an active member of the American Legion. He worked 30 years for the City of Chicago and was also a precinct captain in the 47th Ward. He was an entrepreneur and business owner of Clark Foster Liquors in the Andersonville neighborhood, where he was very involved and sometimes referred to as "the mayor of Andersonville". He is well known throughout Chicagoland and Midwest for his distribution of Glogg, a traditional Christmas holiday beverage. He loved the journey of life and was a positive influence with those he came in touch with. He will be missed but never forgotten. He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Glenn, Gary, Greg and Lane; grandchildren, Bridgett, Nicole, Gary Jr. and Savannah; siblings, Ingemar, Ulla and Lars Erik, all in Sweden. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Assn. appreciated. A farewell gathering to reflect on the life of Hans will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2006, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Road (at Cumberland), Park Ridge.
