Gregory Kayser Obituary
Gregory R. "Greg" Kayser, of Lake Forest, Illinois passed away on October 25, 2025 at the age of 62. Greg left us surrounded by the love and support of his family and friends, and with a strong belief in a loving God.
He is survived by his mother, Joanne J. Halligan; his sister Colleen (the late Terry) Schalk; his brother John (Ilke Limoncu); and his nephew Riley Schalk. He was proceeded in death by his brother Gary, his father Joseph R. "Joe" Kayser, and his stepfather William "Bill" Halligan.
Greg was a proud graduate of Loyola Academy and later attended Indiana University. A talented musician and athlete, he will be remembered for his lifelong love of music and sports. Greg played pretty much every sport with ease and grace and was a natural and gifted performer. Regardless of whether he was playing, performing, or cheering, he always participated with a fierce and infectious joy that reminded us all why we were there in the first place.
Most of all, Greg cherished and is cherished by his wide and diverse circle of friends. There were no strangers in Greg's life, only people he had not yet won over with his charm and humor. If you happened to be seated next to him on an airplane, by the time you landed you had a new best friend. He was known for offering a steady word of advice, a listening ear, and encouragement to everyone fortunate enough to be part of his life.
In honor of Greg's special love for golf, a Memorial Service and gathering will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Sunset Valley Golf Course, 1390 Sunset Road, Highland Park, Illinois. Attire is casual or golf attire.
