Hawley, MD, Gregory Michael

Gregory Michael Hawley, MD. was born on January 25, 1961, Chicago, and transitioned back to the universe on April 20, 2021, Lisle, Illinois. While his family and friends are devastated by this loss, we have comfort in knowing that Greg is finally at peace. Greg is survived by his beloved parents, Robert T. Hawley and Antoinette M. Flosi, his adoring sister, Colette M. Hawley, his ex-wife and friend, Jill Hawley, and the light of his life, his extraordinary daughter Sydney Paige Hawley. He is survived by Antoinette's sister, the loyal and loving aunt Annette (Rich) Gentile, and his incredible cousins, Richie (Lisa) Gentile, Dana (Jerome) Tomas, Jay (Hannah McFadden) Gentile and Chrissy (Chris) Carlson. Also, he is survived by Robert's sister, aunt Mary Pat (Skip) Adams, and his cousins, Ray (Jackie) Adams and Mike (Jenny) Adams. As a graduate of Maine South High School, Notre Dame University and Loyola Medical School, Greg excelled academically. With a unique sense of humor, style and musical tastes, Greg's professional career started as a Physiatrist at McNeal Hospital but after a decade or so he returned to Loyola Medical School and was awarded a degree as a Psychiatrist. He was employed by IPD, the Institute for Personal Development and subsequently, DuPage Medical Group. His goal professionally and personally was to ease human pain. His success is witnessed by patients who were still asking for him long after he stopped practicing. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bucaro Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 485 W. Army Trail Rd. Bloomingdale, from 1 – 5 PM on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
