Grace Kalafut Obituary
Sister Grace Ann Kalafut, SSC, 87, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Casimir for 68 years, died August 24, 2023. Sister Grace Ann ministered in elementary and high schools in Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Nebraska. In Chicago she taught in the primary grades at Immaculate Conception (Brighton Park) and Our Lady of Vilna (Pilsen) and was principal of Our Lady of Vilna and Sts. Peter and Paul (West Pullman) and assistant principal and principal at Maria High School. Sister Grace Ann is survived by her sister Carol (Paul) Valtos (Schnecksville, PA) and her brother, Kenneth Kalafut (Temple, TX) and many nieces and nephews. Her parents, George and Estelle Kalafut and her sister, Veronica (Joseph) Devereux preceded Sister Grace Ann in death. Visitation and Wake Service at Franciscan Village Chapel, 1270 Village Drive, Lemont, IL,
Wednesday, August 30, 2023, 10:45 a.m. to noon, followed by the Mass of Resurrection at noon. Interment, St. Casimir Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SSC Retirement Fund. www.sistersofstcasimir.org (Lack & Sons, Funeral Director)
