Gerald Van Overbeek Obituary

I'm sad to have just learned about Father Jerry's passing. We became good friends after sitting next to each other on a flight from San Francisco to Chicago back in 2010. He was reading The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying and I asked him if he was Buddhist. He laughed and said no! I'm a Catholic priest! That started our years-long friendship. While he was living and working in San Francisco, we would sometimes go to Land's End and look out over the Pacific Ocean while talking about anything and everything. He was a sweet and caring soul who would always listen without judgement. I think he would have been amused to know that I now live in Holland, where his family is from. I'll miss you dearly, Jerry. God bless.

In San Francisco, ca. Our boys are now 9 years old and we have
two daughters as well. We have kept in touch with him all of these
Years and I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
