Dear Mrs. Nora, Nancy, and family:
You may remember me from Nancy's SLU days. I am sorry that I have only this moment read of the good Doctor's passing. I offer you my sincere condolences for your loss. Dr. Nora was a truly inspiring man. I know because after a few conversations in 1979, he inspired me always to do my best in whatever I chose to do. I recall an energetic paterfamilias who still made time for a USC game or family dinner. I am thankful I was able to get to know him when I did.

Dearest Nora Family,
Words could never truly express what Dr. Nora (and all of you) have meant to our family, the John Mills family. He was always and forever my fathers best friend. I remember my father telling me once that if you have one best friend in this world, you are truly blessed. We will always treasure your thoughtfulness in remembering him in the prayers of the faithful at the mass.
You heard from my Aunt Gerry and Aunt Ellarita (my father's sisters) how your grandfather, Dr.Ernest and Dr.Gerry through their many prayers and skills performed miracle after miracle for our father.
I will always cherish the time I spent with the Nora family at Paw Paw Lake. But my favorite memory of Dr. Nora will always be his wonderful sense of humor.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Nora and the entire Nora family.
God Bless,
Lori Mills Pfammatter, and Marita, Julie, Johnny, Jerry and James.

The entire Mills family sends their prayers for your healing. Each of the Noras had a profound effect on each of us. Margie and Gracie were my good good friends. Gracie and I began teaching together. Ernie was in my class at OLP. Gerry was always there for our brother, John. We will never forget any of you. God bless and keep you in the palm of His hand. Gerry Mills Quinn, South Bend, IN.

Dear Mrs. Nora and Family,
We were very sorry to hear of the death of Dr. Nora (post-funeral, so missed being present to you). Dr. Nora has left a remarkable legacy. Mrs. Nora, you two raised such a fine family. We so enjoyed the years on Magnolia, some 7, where we played together and went to St. Ita's with the older boys and Lois. I remember breaking my arm while roller skating and Dr. Nora looking at it and sending me to the hospital to have it set. I know it gave my parents, with our 10 children, a feeling of security having a kindly and skilled doctor 2 doors away!
You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Dear Pat,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all the Nora Family.
Dr. Nora and his father were God's physicians. They have left their marks in this world. I am John Mills' sister. Dr. Gerald cared for my brother after his own father passed on. What a difference he made in Johnny's life, both as best friend and physician.
Jack (my husband) and I met you at Rita Mills' funeral. How great it was that you both were there. I could just about write a book about "The Nora Family".

I have many fond memories of your dad (and your whole family) from the time we moved to 5434 Magnolia in 1955 until the Fitzsimmons replaced you guys in 1962. A memory that will stay with me is your dad bringing my dad to a Notre Dame football game. Like many catholics of that era, dad was a subway alumni of Notre Dame. The game was always on the radio on Autumn Saturdays. The chance to be there was something he remembered for years before his death in 1977. My thoughts are with your family.

Sorry to hear the news that you lost your Dad. I tried to make it to Donnelan for the wake, but traffic held me up.
My boys went to Glenbrook South with the Cantwells so we have been able to keep up on you somewhat.
My Mom is the last in our family and she is 97. I read her your dad's obit yesterday and she remembers you very well from our St Mary's days. She asked that I pass along her prayers.
Hopefully our paths will cross sometime. Sorry for your loss.
your friend

Gerry and family,
Your dad was a real friend to my family, and I was very saddened to hear of his passing. Gerry, you may recall that while you were in D.C. your dad arranged for you to take me to see some of the sites. I worked for your dad back then, and we went to see the Washington Monument and the Declaration of Independence, among other places. Your dad took care of me when I was very ill, and he always treated us like family. He will be missed.
